Check out the Picturebooth
I am so excited about a new service we’re offering. The “Picturebooth” has been a huge hit with my clients and their guests every time we set it up.
How it works: we set up a staff-attended mini studio (usually a black background sheet hung on a frame outside of the reception area) with a camera on a tripod and a wire remote control. Then we let the guests loose to do whatever they want! I pride myself on making people feel comfortable in front of my camera, but there’s really no substitute for people being able to take their own pictures. The images are always surprising, sweet, silly, and memorable.
Check out these images from a couple recent weddings and you’ll see just what I mean!
I just photographed Kathryn’s Sweet 16 at the very cool Studio 450 in Midtown Manhattan. They are such a happy family, and she’s surrounded by a terrific group of friends who love her. It was such a great party -- the entire evening was just about dancing and having lots of fun!
I really loved working with Adriana and Jason. Both are trained actors so they needed little direction from me as to what to do in front of the camera. Not only are they very natural in front of the camera, they are so in love every picture just radiated joy. It was really hard to edit anything out of the set! I am super excited about their wedding since they have some fun plans, including driving with their wedding party on a yellow doubledecker bus through Manhattan!
Gabby and Dan currently live in London and were here just to take care of their wedding plans. I can’t wait to photograph their wedding next month! Dan felt a little self-conscious when we first starting shooting, but after a little while he was himself and I was able to get some really sweet pictures of them. As you can see, Gabby is really comfortable being in front of the camera. She is actually a photographer herself and sells her fine art photography online.
I saw this Mr. Bean video on a photographer friend's blog and it made me laugh so hard that I had to have it on mine too.
I just finished editing Nicole and Jake’s images from their destination wedding in the Bahamas, you can see how much fun we had on the beach! Nicole is beautiful and vivacious, and Jake is crazy in love with her, so they made my job of taking gorgeous images really easy. They actually met on a cruise ship three years ago, which is why they decided to get married on a cruise. It was really romantic and relaxing, even for me! For the first time in years, I had no email access, so it was a great opportunity just to unplug and unwind. You can see the images below.
